Treatment Of The Stone Disease Of The Urinary System

Stone disease of the urinary system is common in our country. In recent years, treatment is mostly done with methods that require minimal intervention. The main factors that determine the treatment are the size, number, location of the stone and its effect on the kidney. Of course, not every stone requires treatment. However, if the intervention criteria are valid, an active treatment should be administered. Stone fragmentation with shock wave from outside the body, stone fragmentation with laser from inside the body, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, that is, the operation performed by reaching the kidney with a tiny tunnel from the back area, laparoscopic stone surgery and stone treatment through open surgery are among these treatments. Today, stones can be treated with 99% closed methods. The rate of open surgery is extremely reduced.
